MODALITIES

SWEDISH MASSAGE

Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. But Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Deep tissue massage therapy is like Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia. Deep tissue assists in reducing stress, hormone levels and heart rate while boosting mood and relaxation by triggering the release of oxytocin and serotonin.

HOT STONE MASSAGE

Hot stone massage therapy melts away tension, eases muscle stiffness and increases circulation and metabolism. Hot stone massage therapy sessions promotes deeper muscle relaxation through the placement of smooth, water-heated stones at key points on the body. The direct heat of the hot stones relaxes the muscles, allowing the therapist access to their deeper muscle layers. Combining hot stones with a full body massage provides a very healing and effective experience. The hot stones also expand blood vessels, which encourages blood flow throughout the body. The hot stones have a sedative effect that may help relieve pain, reduce stress and promote deep relaxation.

AROMA THERAPY

Apart from providing a pleasant smell, aromatherapy oils can provide respiratory disinfection, decongestant, and psychological benefits. Inhaling essential oils stimulates the olfactory system, the part of the brain connected to smell, including the nose and the brain. Molecules that enter the nose or mouth pass to the lungs, and from there, to other parts of the body. As the molecules reach the brain, they affect limbic system, which is linked to the emotions, the heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, memory, stress, and hormone balance. In this way, essential oils can have a subtle, yet holistic effect on the body.
